Description

The purpose of this unit is to introduce students to the ethical principles and values that underpin professional social work practice. Students will also be introduced to concepts of disadvantage and oppression and how to work with service users building upon their strengths. Human growth and development will also be introduced and explored. Concepts of reflective practice and consideration of the impact of 'self' will also be considered. The assessment requires a subject observation enabling students to apply their learning to an individual's unique set of circumstances.
